Brilliance the Musical
Engaging Stories
It’s important for our audience to receive real-time updates on Brilliance productions, but it’s also important that they be reminded of the ways that messages from this musical can tie into their daily life. I use our IG and Facebook stories to help tell the story of Frances Farmer, as it’s told within the musical.
Powerful Videos
Since Brilliance is a new musical, it’s incredibly important for me to tell their story through videos and photographs. Our audience thrives on seeing this production brought to life, and learning more about the characters and the actors portraying them. I work with cast and production team members to create interview footage, live video updates, production videos, and also host instagram takeovers.
Ways to Get Involved
Brilliance is still on the road to Broadway, so a huge goal in our marketing campaigns is to reach potential donors and investors. I integrate support posts, which offer opportunities for audience members to become involved in the project, fairly often into the content on our social channels.

Telling my Own Story
In marketing myself as a visual artist, I’ve learned that I am not just trying to get my audience to connect with my artwork - I am trying to get them to connect with me. I tell my story candidly, with periodic updates on the big happenings of my life and studio. I find by being honest, and being myself, I am able to inspire people more effectively - I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how many have related to my struggles as an artist, millenial, and loss mom.
Eye-Catching Videos
One of the most exciting parts of my online presence are the dynamic videos I create. These usually appear on IG or TikTok, where my following features a younger audience, but I also post them on Facebook. Bright colors, quick and juicy shots, and music that matches the rhythm of the video have helped me reach viral audiences. I use these videos to showcase the work, the process, to share tips, and to speak on the concepts behind my artwork.
Showcasing the Artwork
A vital part of my practice, and the whole purpose for me having a presence on socials, is my artwork itself. If my audience cant find me, I will never be able to get my work into their hands. High-quality photography, dynamic in-home or outdoor shots, progress updates serve to show my viewers what I’m working on and to let them know how to buy artwork that is available for sale. These posts drive the majority of traffic to my online store.
